3G Electric Fire Station Case Study – Garden City Fire Station #3

Situation Overview

3G Electric is proud to have served the Garden City community for three generations and was honored to take on the role of electrical contractor for the new Garden City Fire Station #3. This large-scale civic construction project, in partnership with Crossland Construction Company, required a comprehensive electrical infrastructure buildout to support critical emergency response operations, communications, training facilities, and living quarters. The project was not only an opportunity to contribute to public safety but also a chance to collaborate with local tradesmen.

Challenges included:

  • Coordinating busy schedules and clear communication across multiple trades

  • Managing weather-related delays and material availability

  • Meeting specialized electrical requirements for emergency systems and backup power

The Solution

Supported by 3G’s expertise and priority on safety and high-quality electrical systems regardless of project complexity, the company installed all electrical systems, including service entrance, distribution panels, interior and exterior lighting, emergency backup power, apparatus bay systems, communication/data cabling, and specialized fire alarm integration. An emphasis was placed on redundancy, lighting quality and accessibility for maintenance to meet the needs of a building of this scope.

To complete the project successfully and safely, 3G maintained close coordination with Crossland Construction Company and consistent communication with city stakeholders. This included managing timelines effectively, adjusting to schedule shifts as needed, and maintaining strong relationships with fellow trades. 3G also leveraged local vendors and suppliers to both expedite material delivery and support the community.

The Result

Garden City Fire Station #3 is now a fully operational, state-of-the-art facility serving the city’s fire and rescue teams. 3G’s electrical systems enhance the team’s ability to respond swiftly and safely at any time of day, supported by reliable power, critical system functionality, and energy efficiency.
